We just received some wonderful news about Homestretch, a film directed by Sheri Bylander and co-produced by Dreamfly.  This wonderful film was just selected by the Genesis Awards to receive an Honorable Mention. The annual Genesis Awards, presented by the Humane Society of the United States, pay tribute to outstanding individuals in the news and entertainment media whose work has helped raise public awareness of animal rights and welfare issues.

Homestretch is an outstanding documentary that chronicles the pairing of inmates and rescued end-of-career racehorses.  The result is deeply affecting.

Genesis Awards are presented annually at a star-studded ceremony drawing representatives from the media, entertainment industry, social, business and humane communities. Recognized as the nation’s premier consciousness-raiser of animal issues, the event has attracted a host of celebrity presenters, including Christian Bale, Pierce Brosnan, James Cromwell, Ellen DeGeneres, Emily Deschanel, Zooey Deschanel, Kelsey Grammer, Daryl Hannah, Kyle MacLachlan, Bill Maher, Wendie Malick, Sidney Poitier, Charlotte Ross, Martin Sheen, and Alicia Silverstone.

The taped event is edited to become the Genesis Awards Television Special, airing nationwide and exposing millions of viewers to animal wrongs – and animal rights.

The awards ceremony is being held March 20, 2010 at the Beverly Hilton in in LA.  Homestretch will be listed in the 24th Genesis Awards souvenir program.
