Dreamfly Productions has been very fortunate to ride out this recession with some really wonderful and innovative clients. We have worked on fascinating projects this year ranging from music videos, industrials, commercials, high definition graphics packages, animation and most recently a pilot for a fitness show hosted by former wrestlers. It’s been an amazing year so far.

Dreamfly Films screened the documentary Homestretch at The Magnolia Theatre in October, 2008.  We are very proud to be a part of this powerful film and to work with director Sheri Bylander. Homestretch premiered at the 2007 Sonoma Valley Film Festival and is currently in distribution negotiations with several domestic and foreign companies. Download national airing schedule here.

Dreamfly Films and Longhorn Skull Productions is slated to start production on the psycho-thriller, Minuteman in late May in the North Texas area. Stay tuned for more on Minuteman as we are currently casting the leads. Writer/director Mark Millhone plans to blow you out of your seat with his directorial debut and Minuteman the sequel is already in the works!

The Other Jennifer, a feature from Dreamfly Films, co-produced by Lisa Jenkins and Kirsten Fuller is getting closer to filming.  We are very excited to announce that we have cast the leads to two extremely talented actors on the verge of major stardom.  Mamie Gummer, who made her feature debut in Hoax opposite Richard Gere, has since been featured in Stop Loss and John Adams and shared the screen with her mother, Meryl Streep, in Evening.  She recently finished filming Ang Lee’s new film, Taking Woodstock.  Benjamin Walker has been featured in Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers, Kinsey, The Notorious Bettie Page and The War Boys in addition to starring in several Broadway productions.  We are all very passionate about writer/director Mark Millhone’s smart, funny and topical script.

Actor and writer, Jackie VanZant, has officially signed on with Dreamfly Talent Management. Jackie is our first client and we have big plans for making Jackie very rich and famous. He doesn’t need much help on our end though. Jackie is set to star in the comedy Cell-Out, written by Jackie VanZant.

We would like to congratulate our film intern Marshall Rimmer. He has a short that premieres opening night at SXSW. Check out his film Thick as Thieves if you are attending the festival.  Marshall will be graduating from UT Film School this SPRING, so watch out for this extremely talented up-and-coming director!
