Jackie Vanzant
Jackie began an acting career at the age of nineteen that landed him in numerous television commercials, independent films, stand-up comedy, and voice-overs. His most memorable spot was a Coca-Cola commercial with Troy Aikman made as a remake of the old Mean Joe Green spot. One night while out on the town, Jackie was signed up for a stand-up comedy contest by one of his friends as a practical joke. He decided to play along and ended up advancing to the next rounds, and later won the grand prize in the entire contest. Thus launching a career in comedy and sending Jackie to New York, and later Hollywood. “I liked living in California, but one thing I learned about performing stand-up, they expect you to be funny! I knew there would be a catch.” Once arriving back in Dallas, Jackie began dabbling in radio working as a character voice for different radio shows. He began working as a full-time disc jockey for Next Media in September of ’04. “I like working in radio because I love music, and it is more of a steady job that is still in the entertainment field. This creates a little bit more of a job security feeling. At least until I get fired!” Jackie is currently represented by DreamsFly Talent in Dallas. He can still be seen on television commercials and performing stand-up at different locations in the Dallas area.
