The last few days have been a whirlwind. ..
Prior to the start of filming on Monday we were all racing around to make final preparations. I spent time at the ranch with Riley Smith, Adrian Green (Hitman), Mark Millhone and stunt coordinator John Caan to go over stunts. The stunts are going to be so slick on this film. Adrian and Riley have moves.
The sets are looking great too thanks to Billy Jett and Jason Jones (set dresser).
I picked up some final wardrobe items for our costumer Janet Schwartz and then Nikki St. George and I went over to Willa’s house to do a run through on her makeup. I was out with Harry Munive to get craft services. The list goes on but it’s all so very exciting!
Monday was our first official day of production and filming on Minuteman! What a thrill. We had flash flooding but shot covered sets. We initiated our actors far sooner than planned as the flooding forced us inside where we shot the bedroom scene earlier than planned. Nothing like getting that out of the way on day one!
Day Two. Yesterday we were up at the ranch and had a total mudslide! My Suburban got stuck in the mud! Corky/David Born had his car breakdown on his trip here…he’ll arrive today.
We had to scramble in the morning to make some changes. The first scene at the ranch this was meant to be a horse scene. However, the ranch manager couldn’t be there so the scene had to be rescheduled for later in the day. All scenes with the animals at the ranch require the ranch manager be present.
We wondered if the paparazzi was overhead when a helicopter was hovering above us during filming…turns out it was the ranch owner!!! Very funny.
Here are some photos from filming:
